How to connect Pipedrive to Claude
Yes, you can connect Pipedrive to Claude with Pipedrive's official connector: in Claude, open Customize > Connectors, search for Pipedrive, click Connect and approve access in Pipedrive. It is included in every Pipedrive plan at no extra cost. As of October 29, 2026, it reads, creates and updates records one at a time, and it can't delete, merge or bulk edit.
Quick answer: what to do in your situation
| If you want to | Do this |
|---|---|
| Ask Claude about your pipeline, deals or contacts | Connect the official connector (steps) and start with read-only questions |
| Create or update a handful of deals, people, notes or activities | Use the official connector and check each change in Pipedrive |
| Give the whole team access on Claude Team or Enterprise | An Owner adds Pipedrive for the organization first; then each person connects their own Pipedrive login |
| Change the same field on dozens of records | Use Pipedrive's own bulk edit in list view. Through Claude, each record is a separate call (what can go wrong) |
| Merge duplicates, delete records or undo a change Claude made | The official connector can't. Use Merge duplicates and Restore data inside Pipedrive, or fix the change by hand |
| Connect from Claude Code (developers) | See For developers at the end |
What you need before you start
| Requirement | Details |
|---|---|
| A Pipedrive account | Any plan. Pipedrive says the MCP connector is "available on all Pipedrive plans" with no extra charge (Pipedrive MCP page, checked October 29, 2026) |
| Permission in Pipedrive | You need to be allowed to install apps in your Pipedrive company. If the install step fails, ask your Pipedrive admin |
| A Claude account | Any plan, Free included. Anthropic says directory connectors are available to all users (Use connectors), and claude.com/pricing lists connectors on Free, Pro, Max and Team |
| Permission in Claude | On Team and Enterprise, an Owner or Primary Owner has to enable the connector for the organization before members can use it |
Claude prices on October 29, 2026: Free $0, Pro $20 a month ($17 a month billed annually), Max from $100 a month, Team $25 per seat a month ($20 billed annually).
How to connect Pipedrive to Claude, step by step
These steps follow Pipedrive's guide Pipedrive MCP for Claude (updated October 22, 2026) and Anthropic's Use connectors. They work the same in claude.ai and in the Claude desktop app.
Open the connectors page. In Claude, go to Customize > Connectors.
Find Pipedrive. Search for "Pipedrive" and click Connect. Pipedrive has been listed in Claude's connector directory since August 18, 2026 (Pipedrive newsroom), so you don't need to paste a URL.
Sign in to Pipedrive and approve. If you aren't signed in, Pipedrive asks you to log in and pick your company. Read the permissions in the pop-up and click Allow and install.
Turn it on in a chat. Open a new chat, click the + in the lower-left corner, hover over Connectors and check that Pipedrive is toggled on.
Make sure Claude loads all the tools. Pipedrive warns that Claude may not load every Pipedrive tool by default. In the same + > Connectors menu, Anthropic documents a Tool access option with two modes, Auto (the default) and On demand. If Claude says it can't do something the connector supports, check this setting first.
Test with a read-only question. Ask something that can't change data, for example: "List my open deals worth more than 10,000 that had no activity in the last 14 days." Compare the answer with the same filter in Pipedrive.
For Claude Team and Enterprise
An Owner or Primary Owner goes to Organization settings > Connectors, clicks Browse connectors, finds Pipedrive and clicks Add to your team. That makes it available, but it doesn't give anyone access: each person still connects with their own Pipedrive login.
Owners can also set each tool to Always allow, Needs approval or Blocked for the whole organization, in the connector's Tool permissions. A sensible start: leave the tools that only read (their names start with get or search) on Always allow, and set the tools that create or change records (names starting with add or update, plus convertLeadToDeal) to Needs approval.
What you can and can't do
Claude sees and changes only what your own Pipedrive user can see and change, based on your role and visibility settings. Every action is recorded in Pipedrive's change log.
On October 22, 2026, Pipedrive's list of MCP tools had 51 tools. In short:
- Read, search, create and update: deals, people, organizations, leads and products. Leads can also be converted to deals.
- Read, create and update (no search): activities and notes.
- Read only: pipeline stages.
- Emails: read the threads and messages linked to a deal, person or organization, and link a thread to a deal or lead, if your email sync is connected in Pipedrive. Useful before a call: "What did we last tell Acme?"
- Account context: your pipelines, stages, custom fields and users in one call, so Claude uses your real field names.
- Projects: read, search, create and update, with the Projects add-on.
The full table is in Does Pipedrive have an MCP server?.
What it can't do, as of October 29, 2026:
- Delete anything.
- Merge duplicates.
- Bulk edit. Claude can loop over records, but each one is a separate call with no preview of the whole set.
- Undo. There is no rollback; the change log shows what changed, and you fix it by hand.
- Manage pipelines, custom fields, files, followers or filters, or send email.
Prompts you can copy
| Prompt | What it does |
|---|---|
| "Which of my open deals have no next activity scheduled? Group them by stage." | Read only |
| "Summarize everything that happened with the Acme deal in the last 30 days: notes, activities and emails." | Read only (emails need email sync) |
| "Before my call with Dana Ortiz, show me her deals, the last three notes and any open activities." | Read only |
| "From these meeting notes, create a follow-up activity for Friday on the Acme deal and add the notes to it. Show me what you'll write first." | 2 writes, after you confirm |
| "Create a lead for Northwind with Sam Lee as the contact. Search first and tell me if Sam or Northwind already exist." | Search, then 1 to 3 writes |
| "Move the Acme deal to Proposal Sent and tell me which fields you changed." | 1 write |
Two habits make Claude more reliable here. Name the exact field and value you mean, because a Claude user on r/CRM reported in August 2026 that "you have to be very specific about which fields to look at". And ask Claude to show you what it will write before it writes it.
Costs and limits
The connector itself costs nothing on any Pipedrive plan. Pipedrive says usage "is subject to token limits based on your plan and you can purchase additional tokens if needed" (MCP page). On October 29, 2026, Pipedrive didn't publish how many tokens each connector action costs, or whether they come from the same daily budget as your API integrations.
That budget is 30,000 tokens a day × a plan multiplier (Lite 1, Growth 2, Premium 5, Ultimate 7) × your number of seats, shared with Zapier, web forms and every other integration. How an AI can use up a day of it: Why Claude used up your Pipedrive API tokens.
What can go wrong
The official connector is careful by design: it can't delete or merge. The risks come from many small edits.
- A big request becomes many separate changes. "Set the region to EMEA on everyone from these 40 companies" means at least 40 searches or reads and 40 updates. If something fails halfway, some records are changed and some aren't, and nothing tells you which.
- The wrong record gets matched. Two people called "Sam Lee", or "Acme" and "Acme Ltd", look the same to a search. Ask Claude to list matches with their owners before it changes anything.
- Creates that fail. In May 2026 a developer reported that the Claude connector sent
emailandphoneinstead of theemailsandphonesfields the API expects, so creating the person failed (Pipedrive developer community). No fix was confirmed in the thread. After creating a person, check that it exists with its email and phone. - The budget runs out. If the connector draws from your API budget (Pipedrive doesn't say), long loops of searches spend it fast, and requests fail until the daily reset. We measured that reset at 07:00 UTC on our sandbox account in October 2026.
- No undo. Pipedrive's Restore data brings back deleted items for 30 days and, according to Pipedrive's product updates, can revert bulk edits since March 2026 (we haven't tested it yet, October 29, 2026). Its only revert tabs are Bulk edits and Bulk conversions, with nothing for a one-at-a-time edit, which is how Claude changes records: if Claude overwrites a value, you find the old one in the change log and type it back.
Before you let Claude write
- Start with read-only questions for your first week.
- Ask Claude to show the list of records and the exact changes before writing.
- Keep each request to 20 records or fewer and check them in Pipedrive.
- On Team or Enterprise, set the add and update tools to Needs approval.
- For anything that touches many records, export the list from Pipedrive first so you have the old values.
What we couldn't verify
- Whether connector actions spend the same daily token budget as API integrations, and how much each one costs.
- Whether the email and phone bug reported in May 2026 is fixed.
- Sign-in from Claude Code (see below).
Where Pipehand fits
Pipehand is planned to launch in April 2027 and is designed to replace Pipedrive's MCP inside Claude: everything the official connector does, emails and projects included, plus merging duplicates, bulk edits that show first how many records will change, with examples, approval for large changes and undo, including for merges. You would connect it instead of the official connector, not next to it.
If you want Claude to clean and update Pipedrive with an undo button, join the waitlist on pipehand.com.
FAQ
Can you connect Pipedrive to Claude?
Yes. Pipedrive's official connector has been in Claude's connector directory since August 2026. In Claude, go to Customize > Connectors, search for Pipedrive, click Connect and approve with Allow and install. It works on every Pipedrive plan and every Claude plan.
Is the Pipedrive Claude connector free?
Pipedrive doesn't charge for it on any plan. Usage counts against token limits that depend on your Pipedrive plan, and you can buy more. Claude lists connectors on its Free plan too, so you can try it without paying either side.
Can Claude delete or merge records in Pipedrive?
Not with the official connector. As of October 22, 2026, its 51 tools read, search, create and update, plus convert leads to deals. None delete, merge or edit in bulk. Merging and restoring are done inside Pipedrive.
Why doesn't Claude see all the Pipedrive tools?
Claude may not load every tool of a connector by default. Check + > Connectors > Tool access in the chat. Pipedrive also adds tools over time; its tools article says you can refresh the list from the connector's More menu.
Does Pipedrive work with Claude Code?
Pipedrive's server is a standard remote MCP server at https://mcp.pipedrive.ai/mcp, so Claude Code can add it as an HTTP server. We haven't tested the sign-in from Claude Code; see the notes below.
For developers
Server details, Claude Code and community servers
- Server:
https://mcp.pipedrive.ai/mcp, remote MCP over Streamable HTTP, OAuth sign-in with Pipedrive's "Allow and install" screen. Source: Pipedrive MCP for ChatGPT, which publishes the URL. - Claude Code (untested by us):
claude mcp add --transport http pipedrive https://mcp.pipedrive.ai/mcp, then run/mcpinside Claude Code to sign in. - OAuth redirect allowlist: between October 15 and 28, 2026, seven MCP client vendors asked Pipedrive on its developer community to allow their redirect URIs. A client that isn't on Pipedrive's list may fail at sign-in.
- Community servers: several open-source Pipedrive MCP servers exist (for example ckalima/pipedrive-mcp-server and nubiia-dev/mcp-pipedrive). Most use a personal API token, and many include delete tools. They spend the same company API budget as any integration.
