How to use Pipedrive from Grok

By Tomi · Last updated

There is no official Pipedrive connector for Grok, but Grok can add Pipedrive's own MCP server as a custom connector: on grok.com, go to Connectors, click New Connector, choose Custom and paste https://mcp.pipedrive.ai/mcp. Grok Bot, xAI's agent product, can add a custom MCP server when you ask it in a chat, according to third-party setup guides. Pipedrive isn't in the built-in connectors xAI lists, has no listing in the Grok Bot marketplace and doesn't document Grok. We haven't tested the sign-in (checked October 30, 2026). For a documented route, use Claude or ChatGPT.

Quick answer: what to do in your situation

Your situation Do this
You use Grok on grok.com or the app Add Pipedrive as a custom connector (steps) and start with read-only questions
Your company has Grok Business or Enterprise A team admin adds the connector in xAI's console first; then each person connects their own Pipedrive login
You use Grok Bot Ask the bot to add Pipedrive's MCP server (option 2), or add a middleware plugin such as Composio's
You're a developer on the xAI API Pass the server as a remote MCP tool (For developers); you bring the Pipedrive token yourself
You need it working today, with a vendor guide Use Claude's Pipedrive connector, which Pipedrive documents
You want to merge duplicates, delete or bulk edit No Grok path can. Use Merge duplicates and list view bulk edit inside Pipedrive

Why Cursor: xAI includes Grok Bot in Cursor's paid plans, and plugin vendors such as Customer.io say Grok Bot installs plugins from the Cursor Marketplace.

What you need before you start

  • Pipedrive: any plan. The MCP is included at no extra cost. You need permission to install apps in your Pipedrive company, and an admin can switch MCP access off for the whole company in Company settings (product updates, September 2026).
  • Grok: an account on grok.com. On Grok Business or Enterprise, a team admin has to add the connector in the cloud console before members can use it (xAI).

Option 1: add Pipedrive as a custom connector in Grok

Steps from xAI's Connectors page. xAI only says to "complete any required authentication"; the sign-in below is what Pipedrive's server asks for in Claude and ChatGPT.

  1. Open Connectors. Go to grok.com/connectors.

  2. Create a custom connector. Click New Connector and choose Custom.

  3. Paste the server URL. Enter https://mcp.pipedrive.ai/mcp.

  4. Sign in to Pipedrive and approve. Pick your company, read the permissions and click Allow and install.

  5. Check the tools. xAI says Grok discovers the tools a custom server exposes. Pipedrive's server had 51 on October 22, 2026.

  6. Test with a read-only question: "List my open deals in the Proposal stage with no activity in the last 14 days." Compare it with the same filter in Pipedrive.

If step 4 fails. Pipedrive only accepts sign-in from addresses it has approved. Between October 15 and 28, 2026, at least seven MCP client vendors asked Pipedrive on its developer community to add theirs (for example, Blueticks). An error such as "invalid redirect URI" means Grok isn't on the list, and only Pipedrive can fix it.

For teams. On Grok Business or Enterprise, an admin opens connector management in xAI's console, clicks + Add Connector, chooses Other and enters the same URL. Members should then connect their own Pipedrive account at grok.com/connectors, so each person works with their own Pipedrive permissions.

Option 2: Grok Bot

Grok Bot is a separate app from Grok chat, and xAI's guides don't explain how to add an MCP server. Third-party guides, such as Autosana's, describe this flow:

  1. Ask the bot. In a Grok Bot chat, send: "Add a custom MCP called Pipedrive at https://mcp.pipedrive.ai/mcp".
  2. Approve the card Grok Bot shows to confirm the connector.
  3. Sign in. Open the sign-in link it gives you and approve in Pipedrive.
  4. Mention it. In your next message, type @Pipedrive and ask your question.

Adding Pipedrive to Cursor's mcp.json doesn't add it to Grok Bot (more in How to use Pipedrive from Cursor).

What about the Grok Bot marketplace? xAI takes submissions through a form: an MCP server URL or a public GitHub repository, listed in Grok Bot, Cursor or Grok (the last one "coming soon"). On October 30, 2026, Pipedrive had no listing. Middleware vendors such as Composio offer a general Grok Bot plugin that connects Pipedrive, among many other apps, through their own servers and sign-in, so your data passes through them.

What you can and can't do

With Pipedrive's server, Grok gets the same 51 tools as Claude and ChatGPT (full list): read, search, create and update deals, people, organizations, leads, products, activities and notes one record at a time, plus linked emails and projects. It sees only what your Pipedrive user can see.

xAI's connector docs don't say whether Grok asks you to confirm before a write. Until you know, end write requests with "show me the change and wait for my OK".

It can't delete, merge, bulk edit, undo, manage pipelines or custom fields, or send email.

Prompts you can copy

Prompt What it does
"Which of my open deals have no next activity scheduled? Group them by owner." Read only
"Summarize the last 30 days on the Northwind deal: notes, activities and emails." Read only (emails need sync)
"Before my call with Dana Ortiz, list her deals and open activities." Read only
"Create a follow-up activity for Friday on the Acme deal. Show me the activity and wait for my OK before creating it." 1 write, after you confirm
(Grok Bot) "Every Monday at 9:00, list deals with no activity in 14 days and message me. Don't change anything." Read only, on a schedule

Costs and limits

Pipedrive doesn't charge for the MCP; usage "is subject to token limits based on your plan". Pipedrive doesn't say whether that's the same daily API budget your other integrations share. If it is, a background agent that loops over records can spend it, and requests fail until the reset, which we measured at 07:00 UTC on a US-hosted sandbox account on October 16, 2026 (it may move to 08:00 UTC after November 1). More in Why Claude used up your Pipedrive API tokens.

What can go wrong

  • Grok Bot works while you're away. A scheduled task that writes can change records for hours before you look. Keep scheduled tasks read-only.
  • A big request becomes many separate changes. If it stops halfway, some records change and some don't.
  • The wrong record gets matched. "Acme" and "Acme Ltd" look alike to a search. Ask for the matches with their owners first.
  • No undo. Restore data has nothing for a one-at-a-time edit; you find the old value in the change log and type it back.

Before you let Grok write

  • Ask only read-only questions for your first week.
  • Keep each request to 20 records or fewer and check them in Pipedrive.
  • Export the affected list from Pipedrive before a larger change.

What we couldn't verify

  • Whether Pipedrive accepts Grok's or Grok Bot's sign-in. We read the server's public OAuth metadata but didn't connect an account.
  • Whether Grok asks for confirmation before write actions.
  • How Grok Bot adds a custom MCP server: xAI's guides don't cover it, so the steps come from third-party guides.
  • The Grok Bot marketplace's review criteria and timing. xAI hasn't published them.

Where Pipehand fits

Pipehand is planned to launch in April 2027 as a replacement for Pipedrive's MCP, planned to work from Grok, Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and other MCP assistants. It is designed to add what the official server lacks: merging duplicates, bulk edits that first show how many records will change, approval for large changes and undo afterwards. That would matter most with an agent like Grok Bot that works while you're not watching.

If you want Grok to clean up Pipedrive with an undo button, join the waitlist on pipehand.com.

FAQ

Does Grok integrate with Pipedrive?

Not officially. Pipedrive isn't a built-in Grok connector and has no Grok guide. You can add Pipedrive's MCP server as a custom connector at grok.com/connectors, but neither company documents that combination.

Is there a Pipedrive plugin for Grok Bot?

Not from Pipedrive, as of October 30, 2026. Middleware plugins such as Composio's can reach Pipedrive, or you can ask Grok Bot to add Pipedrive's own MCP server.

What's the Pipedrive MCP URL for Grok?

https://mcp.pipedrive.ai/mcp. Paste it at grok.com/connectors under New Connector > Custom. In the Gemini app, custom servers work only on personal US accounts; see How to connect Pipedrive to Gemini.

Do I need a paid Grok plan?

xAI says connectors are available to all Grok users. Grok Bot is included with SuperGrok plans and with Cursor Pro and Teams plans, according to xAI. Pipedrive's MCP is free on every Pipedrive plan.

Can Grok update deals in Pipedrive?

If the connection works, yes, one record at a time. xAI doesn't say whether Grok confirms writes first, so ask it to show the change and wait. It can't delete, merge or bulk edit.

For developers

xAI API and server details
  • Server: https://mcp.pipedrive.ai/mcp, Streamable HTTP, OAuth through oauth.pipedrive.com, whose public metadata (read October 30, 2026) offers dynamic client registration and PKCE.
  • xAI API: remote MCP tools work in the native SDK, the OpenAI-compatible Responses API and the Speech to Speech API. Add a tool with type: "mcp", server_url and server_label; authorization sets the bearer token. The docs say OpenAI's require_approval "is not currently supported", which suggests no approval step before a write tool runs. Use allowed_tools (allowed_tool_names in the native SDK) to expose only the get and search tools until you trust it.
  • Same budget as your code: a Pipedrive token you use from your code shares the company's daily budget; read the x-daily-ratelimit-token-remaining header.
